TCS ropes in Trilegal, Deloitte in Nashik probe

Tata Consultancy Services has appointed Trilegal as independent legal counsel for an internal investigation into a matter at its Nashik unit. The probe, led by President and COO Aarthi Subramanian with support from Deloitte, will have its findings reviewed by an oversight committee.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has engaged Trilegal as independent legal counsel to assist an internal investigation into a recent matter at its Nashik unit, the country’s largest IT services firm said in an exchange filing on Friday.

"We have engaged the services of expert teams from Deloitte and a prominent law firm Trilegal as independent counsel to the internal investigation led by Ms. Aarthi Subramanian, President and COO, TCS," TCS said in their filing.

CEO and managing director K Krithivasan, TCS, in a statement, said the probe will be led internally by president and COO Aarthi Subramanian, with expert teams from Deloitte also roped in to support the exercise.

Advt The findings of the investigation will be placed before an oversight committee chaired by independent director Keki Mistry for review and implementation of recommendations, the company said.

The company sought to clarify reports circulating in sections of the media, stating that an individual being referred to as an HR manager was neither part of the HR function nor responsible for recruitment, and did not hold any leadership role. TCS also said its Nashik unit continues to operate normally and reports about its shutdown are "absolutely untrue".

According to the statement, a preliminary review of systems and records at the Nashik facility has not revealed any complaints of the nature being alleged through the company’s ethics or POSH channels, even as detailed reviews are ongoing.

"TCS holds itself to the highest standards of employee welfare and institutional conduct," the company said, reiterating its zero-tolerance policy towards any form of coercion or misconduct and its commitment to cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies to ensure a thorough and transparent investigation.
